Karen J. Sherer, 68, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Karen was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 27, 1947 to Wade and Rita (Fidler) Miller. She was a 1965 graduate of Waite High School where she was a cheerleader and member of the band. On April 12, 1969, she married Larry Sherer. Karen worked as a merchandiser for Hallmark Greeting Cards for 15 years, retiring in 1998. Her true passion was spending time with her family and close friends. Karen is survived by her husband of 46 years, Larry; son, Larry Scott Sherer; sisters, Jeanne (Tom) Moran and Beverly (Stacey Haynes) Miller; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; nephews, Barry and Tim Carsten; and cousin, Janet Neyhart. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
