Katherine M. (Gall) Galatocky, of Oregon, Ohio, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, cherished sister, and friend, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the age of 78, at The Gardens of St. Francis.

Born and raised in the Birmingham neighborhood, Kathy was the daughter of Mary (Gauthier) and Joseph Gall Jr. She grew up with a deep appreciation for family, community, and faith, steadfast values she carried with her throughout her life.

She attended St. Stephens and Holy Rosary schools, and graduated from Waite High School. She went on to earn her cosmetology degree from Ma Chere Hair Styling Academy.

Kathy never met a stranger, and her warmth and welcoming spirit made everyone feel like an old friend. This gift served her well throughout her career as a beautician at Betty's Hair Boutique in East Toledo, and receptionist at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home in Oregon.

In 1966, Kathy married Dick Galatocky, beginning a loving partnership that spanned 58 years. Together they built a life centered on family and their shared travels.

Kathy had a profound love for her Hungarian heritage. She embraced her roots wholeheartedly, celebrating her culture through the intricate art of Hungarian embroidery, with each stitch reflecting her pride and passion. A phenomenal cook, she prepared paprika-spiced dishes and homemade pastries, ensuring her treasured recipes were passed down to future generations.

Kathy was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Gall, Mary Block, Patricia Lewis, and Barbara McCloskey. She is survived by her husband, Dick Galatocky; her twin daughters, Julie Galatocky (Brian Kliesch) and Gail (Mike) Ritchie; her sisters, Linda (Paul) Veres and Margie Lawrence; many nieces and nephews; and her grandchildren, Michael (Brittany) Ritchie, Cheyanne Campbell, and Serkan Yapragigur.

Visitation will be held at the Eggleston-Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Monday, November 18, from 3 to 8 p.m., with recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services with Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, November 19, at 11 a.m., at St. Ignatius, 212 N. Stadium Rd., Oregon, Ohio. The family would like to thank the staff at The Gardens of St. Francis for taking such good care of Kathy, especially Vicky, Sherry, and Wendy.
