Kathy L. Beckman of Oregon, Ohio passed away January 31, 2008 at University Hospital Case Western Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 17, 1946 to Frank and Ruth ( McGuire) Michalak. She was a graduate of Clay High School and then became a full time mother until she began working. Kathy was employed as a custodian at the Oregon City Schools for the past 11 years and was formerly employed at the Lucas County Board of Mental Retardation as a teachers aid. She truly loved her jobs and often spoke highly of them.  Kathy enjoyed putting puzzles together, reading, history, and politics. She was a very witty and happy go lucky person who had a nick-name for everyone. But most of all, Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by all.   Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Douglas; mother, Ruth Beck; children, Dawn Drake, Paul (Amy) Drake III, Michael Drake, Jill (Bill) Dirlam, Sara Beckman and Dennis Beckman; sister, Patricia (Roger) Pickel; brother, Thomas (Jan) OBrien and grandchildren, Carrie, Zachary, Benjamin, Paul IV, Noah, and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Michalak and step-father, Francis OBrien.   Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Rd. on Monday, February 4, 2008 from 2 until 9 pm where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at  1pm. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11 until 1 pm.   Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Kathys name are asked to consider the Oregon City Schools Special Services Department In Care of Special Education Children.
