Kathleen J. Lober, 86, of Eastland Dr., Oregon, Ohio passed away December 26, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 7, 1926 to James and Mabel (Seabert) Riley. Kathleen attended Coy School, grades 1-8, and was a 1944 graduate of Clay High School. She attended Business College and worked for 14 years as a secretary for the Toledo Health Department. Later she was employed as an executive secretary to the president of the American Flint Glassworker'™s Union-International for 20 years, retiring in 1978. Selling World Book Encyclopedias got her in greater touch with her community. Kathleen was a lifetime Lutheran and attended First St. Mark'™s and Divinity Lutheran Churches. As a young woman, she was active on committees at the First Baptist Church. She was a long term member of Harmony Council UCT 694 and of the American Legion Auxiliary 537. She enjoyed traveling by car across the USA and especially enjoyed the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Disney World. In her youth she loved to dance and attended weekly dances at the Y in downtown Toledo.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and only brother, Richard 'œDick' Riley. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 48 years, Robert 'œBob' Lober; foster daughter and loving niece, Vicki Riley-Pach (Frank); sisters-in-law, Barbra Vykopal, Lorraine Farnham and Angela Riley, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitations will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m. Kathleen will lie in state on Monday from 10-11 a.m. at First St. Mark'™s Lutheran Church, 1121 Grasser St., Oregon, OH. The Church Service will begin at 11 a.m. followed by interment in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First St. Mark'™s Lutheran Church or the Cherry Street Mission.
