Kathleen J. Phillips, 68, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bono, Ohio on April 4, 1943 to Thomas and Mary (Kawtkowski) Yates. On December 11, 1963, she married John Phillips. Kathleen was a homemaker and enjoyed listening to country music. Her true passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathleen is survived by her children, John (Joanne) Phillips Jr., and Sharon (James) Miller; grandchildren, Michelle, Ashley, Timmy, Christie, Brandy, great-grandchildren, Jamie, Joey, Jess, and five additional great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie (Carol) Yates and Frank (Joyce) Yates. Kathleen is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John. Friends may call at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday from 1:00 pm until time of memorial service at 2:00 pm.
