Kathryn "Kate" M. Marchal, 76, passed away April 19, 2009, after a valiant battle with a long-term illness. Kathryn was born in Toledo, Ohio to Don and Ida Dayton on July 19, 1933. Mrs. Marchal graduated from Waite High School in 1951 and went on to graduate from Riverside School of Nursing. She married Eldred "Al" Marchal, the love of her life. During her career as a nurse, Mrs. Marchal worked at Riverside Hospital, St. Vincent Hospital, and the Luther Home of Mercy. In the summer of 1966 she served as staff nurse for Richard T. Gosser Local 12 Lake Summer Camp. Kathryn was a versatile woman; in addition to being educated in her profession, she enjoyed many hobbies. She displayed many talents as an avid seamstress, humorist, flower arranger, homemaker and mentor. Traveling, entertaining guests, shopping, and dancing were also among her favorite pass-times. She enjoyed many meaningful relationships and cherished all of her friends very much. Kathryn loved her children dearly and supported them in all their endeavors. Her granddaughters knew her as someone who loved them unconditionally and unselfishly. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Eldred; father, Donald; mother, Ida, and sister, Carole (Dayton) Baird. Her surviving family members are sons, Dennis (Christine) Marchal of Northwood, OH and John (Lorie) Marchal of Oregon, OH; daughter, Theresa (Manuel) Reyes of Fremont; granddaughters, Sylvia L. Reyes of Carmel, CA, Monica C. Reyes of Columbus, OH, and Samantha Marchal of Bowling Green, OH. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Rd. in Oregon, Ohio. Funeral Services will be private. Family members kindly request that any memorials be made out to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Habitat for Humanity. Visitation: Wednesday, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services: Thursday, 11:00 a.m.
