Katie L. Morrissey, 29 of Oregon passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014. Katie was born in Oregon, Ohio on April 20, 1985 to Robert J. and Patricia H. (Troje) Morrissey. She was a 2003 graduate from Clay High School and graduated in 2012 from The University of Toledo with a degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology.
Katie loved family gatherings and vacations, especially when it involved the water and the beach. She enjoyed relaxation and occasional pampering and could always find the best spa groupons to take advantage of. She enjoyed country music, going to concerts, sharing crazy YouTube Videos with friends and family and looked forward to eating her Grandpas weekly batch of soup. She loved playing with and spending time with her nephew and nieces, especially those special sleepovers. Katie relished watching her "hero", brother Max, take on various Iron Man competitions and was his biggest fan. She had a special bond with her sisters Erin and Carolyn. Katie was also so very proud of her brother Ben for his strength.
Katie is survived by her parents, Bob siblings, Erin (Derek) Besgrove, Carolyn (John) Berryman, Max (Darah Bihn) Morrissey and Ben Morrissey; nephew and nieces, Bryce, Aubree, Maya, Otis; grandparents, Robert & Irene Troje, Robert Morrissey; best friends, Raquel Colon and Justin 'œJP' Pirrwitz. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Katie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Colleen 'œConnie' Morrissey.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday in Epiphany of the Lord Parish Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 509 Oswald Street, Toledo at 11:00 am and where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Katie'™s memory are asked to consider Rescue Incorporated of Toledo or the charity of their choice.
Katie will be always remembered as a person who sought out the good in others; She had a special sensitivity and awareness of others feelings and had a way of making you feel special whether it was bringing a smile to your face, sharing a good laugh or just being there for you. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and were fortunate to be her friend.
