Kenneth L. Spike Fish, 76, of Millbury, Ohio passed away on Friday, July 14, 2006 in The Arbors at Oregon. Ken was born in Toledo, Ohio July 25, 1929 to Ivan and Catherine (McNett) Fish. Spike and Betty (Pack) Fish were married in 1950.
He was a retired member of Capenters Local 248. He was proud of his work and the contractors that he worked for, such as A.B. Stanbury, Bentley and Lathrop Contruction Co. He retired from construction work in 1980 due to illness. He then worked for Toledo Trust and Key Bank until retiring in 1990.
Spike love to travel on tours, taking excellent care of his yard, working on projects in his garage/shop, collecting antiques, antique tools and playing the banjo. He joined the Happy Wanderers Banjo Club and played for various nursing homes and special occasions in the Toledo area. He also belonged to Zenobia Shrine, Wood County Shrine and Ottawa County Shrine.
He was an active and loyal Masonic member and was proud to be a 32nd Degree Mason. He belonged to the Genoa Lodge and was active until he became ill.
His mother and father preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife Betty Fish of 56 years; son, Kenneth J. Fish and his wife Norma; daughters, Brenda E. (James) Rohdenburg and Kayla J.(Rod) Doherty; grandchildren, Brian and K.C. Fish, Evan James Rohdenburg and Mandy Wharton and four great-grandchildren.
His family wishes to extend thanks to the nurses and aides at The Arbors, especially Joyce, Cindy, Sarah and Debbie for their compassion and care during that last fifteen months. Also, sincere thanks to Pastor Paul Reichert of Calvary Lutheran Church for his many visits and prayers.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, where visitation will be Monday from 2-5 & 6-9 pm with Lodge services at 7 pm. Interment will take place in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Spike's memory may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
