Kenneth E. Miller, 69, passed away on July 9, 2013 at Promedica Bay Park Hospital. He was born on October 1, 1943 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Earl and Sylvia (Eddy) Miller. Ken graduated from East Liverpool High School and was a member of their Athletic Hall of Fame. He attended the University of Toledo where he obtained his Bachelor'™s Degree in Business. During his time at UT, Ken was the President of the Class of 1965 as well as the Captain of the 1965 basketball team, a member of the ROTC, and a member of the Blue Key Honor Society. Ken was also a past President of the Alumni Varsity 'œT' Club. He served in the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in Korea and was discharged with full honors. In 1967, Ken married the love of his life and college sweetheart, Mariann (Bringman). Ken was an avid golfer and held the distinction of having 2 holes-in-one. He loved coaching his daughters'™ sports teams, taking trips to Las Vegas, and playing poker with the same group of friends for over 40 years. Ken was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Nothing gave Ken more pleasure then spending time with his beloved daughters and his pride and joy, his grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Mariann; daughters, Mandie (Steve) Judy, Shannon (Mark) Metzger; brother, Dencel (Phyllis) Miller; sister, Donna Lee Hyder; grandchildren, Jack and Nick Metzger, Jamie, Molly, and Casey Judy. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Vernon Miller.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd, on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
