Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" Pettit, father of 2, step father to 3, husband, papa, thoughtful brother and brother-in-law, best nephew, uncle and friend to all, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 13, 2022. He was born in Oregon, Ohio, on September 15, 1962 to John and Joanne (Witt) Pettit. He graduated from Lake High School and would go on to attend Hocking Hills College. He worked at Walleye Power for over 35 years as an equipment operator. He served on Allen- Clay Joint Fire District for over 25 years and currently serving as Captain. Ken loved riding his motorcycle making it to 49 states twice. He enjoyed his trips to Hocking Hills, Amish country, Cuyahoga Valley and Frankenmuth amongst others. Ken had a passion for wood working, making personalized names and toy chests for friends and family. Papa always loved taking his grandchildren on trips. Ken was always wanting to help others, always investigating places to go when others would go on trips. Ken's wife will forever remember the trips spent riding to Marble Head and traveling the 49 states together.

Ken is survived by his wife, Lynne; children, Chad (Kait) Pettit, Abby (Meagan) Price, Amanda (Adam) Hall, Kyle Smith, Shelby Smith; grandchildren, River Hall, Paislee Price, Asher John Hall; siblings, Jeff (Tena) Pettit, Judith (Tim) Schorling, Karl (Heather) Pettit; aunt, Ginger (Joe Hunyor); and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel 1111 Woodville Rd., Millbury, Ohio, 43447 on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with Last Alarm services at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Ken's name may be directed to Allen-Clay Joint Fire District, Station 35.
