Kenneth E. Whaley, 85, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 20 at his home. He was born in Redkey, Indiana on September 11, 1935 to Gola and Loree (Bird) Whaley. Kenneth attended Woodward High School and later joined the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for the city of Toledo as a wastewater operator for over 32 years, before retiring in 1995. Kenneth enjoyed camping, fishing and going to craft shows. He also enjoyed traveling to Tennessee, the Smokey Mountains and Niagra Falls. Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Christine Whaley; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Carole; parents; brother, Lee; and sister, Phyllis. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon Chapel, on Sunday, January 24 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
