Kenneth B. Yant, 83, of Oregon, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Kingston Residence of Perrysburg, surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 29, 1934 to Lynne and Lempi (Kahelinen) Yant. He was a graduate of Waite High School Class of 1952, served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and was a graduate of Toledo University College of Engineering. On June 4, 1960, he married the love of his life, Joyce Shirley. Ken worked as a mechanical engineer with the Dana Corporation and received five United States Patents. Mr. Yant was a member of Gideon's International, and led a men's bible study at his home for many years. Ken loved spending time with his family, and working crossword and sudoku puzzles.
Ken is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce; children, Kenneth (Cindy)Yant, Timothy (Michele) Yant, and Lisa (Kevin) Vickers; grandchildren, Stephen, Meagan, Jennifer, Julie, Ryan, Jill, Zach, Maddie, Jacob, and Christian; great-grandchildren, Molly, Landen, Morgen, Kinley, Alexander, Christian, and Lee; and niece, Kathlynn Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Yant.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 2, 2018 at 12:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
