Kenneth C. Yard, 80, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2008 in his home. Kenneth was born in Toledo on January 15, 1928 to Kenneth L. and Rosella (Hurm) Yard. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Yard was a firefighter for 28 years with the Toledo Fire Department before his retirement in 1984. He was a member and served as trustee for the Merikel-Farley Trout Club. He was also a member of the Ohio Nomads Motor Home Club.
Surviving are his loving wife, Joyce; sons, Paul (Mary Beth) and Keith (Lisa) Mullen; daughters, Constance (William) Fink and Deborah Munding; brothers, Robert (Mary) and John (Grace) Yard; sister, Iris (Bert) Williams; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Father Alvin, LeRoy and David.
Friends and family may visit Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 am in First St. John Lutheran Church 2471 Seaman Street, Toledo. Internment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Kens memory may be made to either First St. John Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
