Kevin J. Flagg, 48, of Elmore, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, MI. Kevin was born in Fremont, OH on February 22, 1961 to Martin and Shirley (McElhaney) Flagg. He was currently a business representative for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union #8. Kevin started his electrical apprenticeship in 1985 and has worked for many signatory contractors on various jobs in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. During his 20 years of IBEW Local 8 membership, Kevin served on a number of committees, and had been elected to Local 8's Examining Board for two terms. He has served as business representative since August 2001. Kevin currently served on the Wood County Workforce Policy Board and the Area 7 Board. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Fremont. Kevin was a gifted musician and played the guitar and banjo in the former Buck Naked Band and recently the Saw Buck Band. He loved the outdoors, camping, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Kevin will be remembered as a loving husband and father. Surviving are his wife, Cheri; sons, Zachary and Jacob Flagg; father, Martin (Dorothy) Flagg; sister, Cindy Flagg. Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley; brother, Mark Flagg; grandparents, US and Zenith Flagg, Loren and Dorothy McElhaney; mother-in-law, Cora Lee "Corky" Coffee Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, on Friday, February 27, 2009 from 2-9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
