Kim M. Purtee, 59, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 24, 1962 to William and Annette (Sleighton) Ruetz. Kim worked as a housekeeper for Orchard Villa for 22 years before retiring. She loved caring for her flower and fairy garden, always keeping an immaculate house, inside and out. She was an extremely hard worker taking great pride in everything she had. Kim enjoyed crafts, traveling and her loveable canine companions. She also enjoyed visiting lighthouses across the U.S. and spending time at Shipshewana. She was a selfless woman who always cared for others and made sure her children were taken care of. What she cherished most was her little buddy, Lando. Kim was taken from us too soon, but we will always cherish the memories that we have. Kim is survived by her children, Kristina (Matthew) DeVries, Joshua Purtee, Megan Purtee; grandson, Lando; brother, Mark (Peggy) Ruetz, Keith (Donna) Ruetz; 4 legged kids, Raven, Bo, Sheldon; and many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, William Ruetz II. Friends and family may visit Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A celebration of life will take place in the funeral home on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions in Kim's name may be directed to The Toledo Humane Society.
