Lana L. Gross, 99, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Orchard Villa surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 25, 1919 to Donald and Hazel (Kern) Dubbs. Lana graduated from Clay High School in 1937 and Toledo Hospital School of Nursing in 1940. She married the love of her life, Donald Gross on February 22, 1941 and he would precede her in death. Lana was one of the first charge nurses in the St Charles ICU. She was a member of the Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 70 year member of the Eastern Star Lotus Chapter, CCL, 2 Bridge Clubs and also taught Sunday School. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, loved traveling with her late husband and friends to various states and countries. She had a passion for skiing which was passed down to her children and grandchildren. What Lana cherished most was spending time with her family at their various gatherings. She was a caring, loving and generous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Lana is survived by her children, Bruce Gross, Barbara Warner, Marsha (Gary) Crews, Carole (John) Burnworth, Dan (Michele) Gross, Cindy (Don) McGee; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, Donald; brothers, Roger, Marvin and Neil Dubbs; sister, Phyllis Buehler; and son-in-law, Roger Warner.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 2-8 pm. A memorial service will be held at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 725 Navarre Ave., Toledo, Ohio, 43605 on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 12:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Eastminster Presbyterian Memorial Fund.
