Larry R. Witt, 82, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 surrounded by his family. Larry was born in Oak Harbor, Ohio on May 20, 1935 to Lawrence and Arminta (Roose) Witt. On July 16, 1960, he married Margaret Braatz. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Blind Ministry Club. Larry enjoyed barbershop quartet singing, listening to Toledo Mud Hens baseball games and participated in the blind bowling league.
Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret; children, Ronald Witt and Michelle (Joe) Crouse; grandchildren, Cara (Tanner Engle) Witt, Kevin Witt, Devon Crouse and Hannah Crouse; great-granddaughter, Harper Engle; brother, Donald (Virginia) Witt; and sister, Karen (Norman) Ellickson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Roose Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
