Obituary

Kathryn LaVerne Kathryn Klawitter, 87, of Curtice, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at her home. LaVerne was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 6, 1921, to Fred and Lena (Moritz) Kowalka. She was employed as a L.P.N. at Riverside Hospital before retiring in 1980. LaVerne was a lifetime member of First St. John's Lutheran Church. She also was a member of the American Legion Christ Dunberger Post #537 Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as past president and held many other offices. Surviving are her sons, Edward Jr. (Susan), Ronald (Margot) and James (Penny) Klawitter; daughter, Sue (Joseph) Moszkowicz; grandchildren, Monica and Joel Moszkowicz, David and Justin Klawitter, Andrew and Ellen Klawitter, Darcy Pearce; great-grandson, Raiden, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Fred Kowalka, and husband, Edward Sr. "Jim". Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 until 9 p.m. A ladies auxiliary service will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2008, at 11 a.m., with visitation 1 hour prior, at First St. John's Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman Street. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Christ Dunberger Post or 1st St. John's Lutheran Church. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Rose, Sue, and Stacy for their loving care and support. Visitation: Tuesday, 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, 2-9 p.m. Services: Thursday, 11:00 a.m.
