Lenore P. Salona, 85, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Lee was born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 17, 1928 to Louis and Victoria (Simon) Feil. In 1945, Lee graduated from Central Catholic High School with perfect attendance and received a rosary from the bishop for her achievement. On October 22, 1949, she married Louis Salona. Lee worked as a cafeteria worker in the Toledo Public Schools for many years. She was a faithful member of St. Stephens Catholic Church and VFW Post #4906 Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies included baking, bird watching, flower gardening, and collecting angels. She especially enjoyed playing buco with friends and traveling to Florida with her family. Lee is survived by her children, Thomas (Brenda) Salona and Debbie (John) Barker; grandchildren, Lisa (Ron) Oliver, Jon Barker, Amanda McCusker, Brandi Thompson, and Shelia Moore; great-grandchildren, Adam, Laura, Logan, Terrance, and Michael. Lee is also survived by many loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Paul. Funeral services will begin Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 9:45 am with prayers in the funeral home and proceed to Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Stephens Church, 2018 Consaul Street, Toledo, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to a charity of the donor'™s choice.
