Leo J Salpietro, 76 of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at home. Leo was born June 27, 1944 in Toledo Ohio to Thomas and Cleotus (Saylor) Salpietro. Leo was a graduate of Waite High School in 1962, where he was captain of the travel hockey team. After high school, Leo served in the Army. He worked at Ford Motor Company for 28.5 years, before retiring in 2008. Leo coached baseball for Sacred Heart and Garfield. He was an avid Detroit sports fan. Leo was a family man, loved spending time with his grandchildren and would do anything for his family. Leo is survived by his children, Marlowe Salpietro, Mario Salpietro and Leo (Shaunda) Salpietro; grandchildren, Montague "Monty", Dante, Mianna, Martino, Timetheo, Terrell and Leo; great grandchildren, Sylvia and Bella; and brother, Tom (Mary Francis) Salpietro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Salpietro; and parents. Private interment will be held at Toledo Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Elara Caring Hospice.
