Leroy R. Madison, 76, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 16, 2018. Leroy was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on September 15, 1941 to Leroy O and Eleanor (Barris) Madison. On November 23, 1962, he married the love of his life Shirley Fitzpatrick. Mr. Madison was employed 30 years with the Ford Motor Company retiring in 1996. He enjoyed playing solitaire and connecting with his family throughout the country on Facebook. Leroy and his family often traveled to Pennsylvania to visit extended family. He loved shopping at flea markets and garage sales, being around people, and striking up a conversation with anyone he met. For many years, Leroy played Santa Claus for family, friends, and those less fortunate. Leroy leaves behind a legacy of love and will be remembered by his family for the life lessons he taught them, being a jokester, strong work ethic, and having a heart of gold. Leroy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley; children, Peggy (Edward) Morrin and Alan (Colleen Barry) Madison; daughter-in-law, Susan Madison; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Burnish, Linda (Paul) Johnson, and Betty Collins; German Shepherd, Midnight; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Leroy O. Madison; and brother, Carl Madison. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 2:00 pm until time of funeral service at 7:00 pm. Private interment will be in Willow Cemetery.
