Lester G. "Tiny" "Danny" Dannenberger, 77, of Millbury, OH passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born in Sugar Ridge, OH on March 14, 1928 to John and Mary (Spiers) Dannenberger. He worked for CSX Railroad for 47 years as a conductor and also as an operator with Henry Gurtzwieler for 35 years retiring in 1989. Danny was a U.S. Marine serving during WWII and Korea. He was a member of the Northwood VFW and the American Legion Post in Bradner, Ohio. Danny enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and spending his winters in Louisiana. He also was very active in scouting serving as Cub Master, Scout Master and Explorer Leader.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Loretta M.; daughter, Linda J. DeLeon of Daytona, FL; sons, Larry G. (Patricia) of Fostoria, OH and Leo J. (Vickie) of Millbury, OH; foster sons, David and Jeff Feller; brothers, Merle (Lorie) and Richard (Donna) Dannenberger; sister, Laverne (Kenny) Boice; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Pauline Schiffert and twin brother, Chester. Danny was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home Millbury Chapel 1111 Woodville Rd. Millbury, OH on Monday February 13, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am. Interment will take place in Bradner Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Lung Association.
