Lewis L. Andrews, longtime resident of East Toledo, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 87. Lew was born in Wolf Lake, Illinois on March 25, 1928 to Coy and Jessie (Butcher) Andrews. On July 1, 1949, he married Dolores Sweet. For 30 years, Lew worked at Libbey-Owens-Ford, East Broadway Plant. Lew was an active member of River East Development Organization, Paragon Masonic Lodge, Lucas County Democratic Party, as well as an avid golfer and woodworker. His true passion was spending time with his family and socializing with his many longtime friends in the east Toledo community. Lew is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dolores; daughter, LuAnn (Greg Sobczak) Zeisler; son, Robert (Debbie) Andrews; grandchildren, Mark (Sarah), Kyle (Michelle), Grant (Lauren), Aaron (India), Adam (Megan), and Alan; great-granddaughter, Aurora; brother, Charles Andrews; niece, Dian (Jim) Winkle; along with many loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bernard; and sister, Ruth Myers. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm, where a Masonic Lodge service will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Private interment will take place. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
