Lewis Maynard Cummins, 69, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Thursday, Aril 20, 2017 surrounded by his family while losing his battle with cancer. Lewis was born in Newcomb, Tennessee on August 15, 1947 to Leland and Clothilda (Wilson) Cummins. He served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968 where he was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina and Vietnam. He was a proud Lifetime VFW Member. Worked the assembly line at General Motors Powertrain and retired after 33 years where he was a member of the UAW Local 14. He owned and operated Lewis's Bicycle Shop on Woodville Rd. in Northwood. He loved attending Classic Car Shows, loved all types of music and collecting banjos and guitars.
Lewis is survived by his brothers, Dillard Lee (Lois) Cummins, Edward Wayne Cummins; adoptive son, Anthony (Theresa) Poulson; grandson, JR (Sam who's expecting my Great Grand Child)) Poulson; best friend for over 50 years, Larry & Ruth Lay; many wonderful neighborhood friends including, Gary & Charlene Holmes (for over 40 years), Antonio & Michelle Zapata, and all the friends he has made at Crusin Zeke's and Moose's Car Shows where he had got up the courage to play 'My Little Riviera Baby". He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive Friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time memorial service and military honors at 2:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
