Lewis Gray passed from this life on September 25, 2004. He was born in Barnsboro, PA in 1914 and lived for 90 good years. Lewis was a resident of Oregon, OH for 60 years before moving to Tavares, FL where he had spent the winters for many years. While in Pennsylvania, he worked as a coal miner. After coming to Oregon, he worked at Pure Oil Refinery for 25 years, Libbey Glass for 7 years, and as a security guard for the American Red Cross. After earning his minister's license from the Church of Nazarene, Rev. Gray pastored a church in Deshler, OH for several years. He loved to debate religion and politics with his family and friends, and we will miss his constant sense of humor.
His wife, Margaret and daughter Dorothy Tilton preceded Lewis in death. He is survived by daughters, Laura (Edward) Harmon, Linda (Robert) Wright and Diane Timmons; sons, Robert (Jo Anne) and Donald (Carol). He leaves 8 grandchildren, Jim and Julie Howell, Kim Wells, Kyle Gray, Mystie, Shawn and Joshua Gray, and 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Lewis is his brother, George (Babe) Gray who will miss him greatly and lived in Tavares near him.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Friday from 2-8 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens.
