Lewis J. Schroeder, 80, of east Toledo, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Heartland of Oregon. Lewis was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 30, 1926 to Louis F. and Ella Marie (Colgan) Schroeder. He was a WWII U. S. Army Veteran. Lewis was a pipefitter and foreman for the Conrail Railroad for 34 years retiring in 1978. He was a member of First St. Mark Lutheran Church and also a member of the Lotus Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his children, Kathy (Alex) Bolla, Robert, Jeffery, Keith (Trudy) Schroeder; grandchildren, Denni, Chauncey, Dennis Smith, Keith Schroeder, Nicholas Bolla; great granddaughter, Karissa Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline and his parents.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Friday from 2 until 9 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
