Lewis Carroll Walkup, 76 of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. Lewis was born in West Virginia on September 7, 1933 to Walter and Gladys (Beitz) Walkup. He was employed as a truck driver and mechanic for the Anderson Concrete Company in Columbus, Ohio for over 25 years before his retirement in 1994. Lewis was an active member of Hope Community Church. Mr. Walkup enjoyed swimming, biking and walking particularly at Pearson and Maumee Bay State Park. Lewis also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and reading, especially the Bible. But his first love was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivng are his sons, Jeffrey (Marlene) and Timothy (Karen) Walkup; daughters, Carol (Ed) Barbabella and Kimberly (Reese) Snyder; brothers, Dennis and Bill Walkup; sister, Rondalene Walker; grandchildren, Tia (Patrick) Jasniak, Sheena (Andy) Kus, Justina (Ryan Smith) Snyder, Jonathan Snyder, Shayne and Shannon Walkup; great grandson, Bryce Jasniak. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth; brothers, Larry and Clyde Walkup; sister, Audrey Christiansen.
Friends may call in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road where visitation will be Monday from 3 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Carroll'™s memory may be made to Hope Community Church.
