Obituary

Lillian Marie (Koenemann) Huener 83, of Toledo passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009 in her home surrounded by her family. Lillian was born on June 23, 1926 to Frederich and Wilhelmina (Scheuler) Koenemann at Preble. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1944 and attended Indiana Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. On April 9, 1950 she married Edgar Julian Huener. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and in the 1950's writing jingles for contests for which she won several nice prizes. While occasionally working outside the home, she also had an in-home typing service, handling forms that required carbons, which as long ago as the mid 1970's, many people already had difficulty handling. The first in the family to have an email address, she sought out new technology and used it to further her business. Most of her time, however, was spent raising children. She worked with 4-H clubs when her daughters were young, but after they left home, she contributed many volunteer hours, leading worship and prayer time through Lucas County Jail Ministry and doing administrative work for St. Paul's Methodist Church in downtown Toledo. A lifelong Lutheran, here in Toledo, she attended both Good Shepherd of the Deaf Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran Churchs. She particularly loved contemporary worship services. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, her parents, and her sisters, Eleanor Imler and Mildred Schroeder. Surviving are her 5 daughters, Kay, Jean and Beth Huener, Joy (Ken) Kruse, Grace (Todd) Davidson; grandchildren, Karin Foth, Arianne (Al) Denis, Danielle Fortner, Jessica Partee, and Kenzie and Melanie Davidson; and great-grandchildren Gabrielle Clark, Elijah Custer, Seth Foth and Samuel Fortner. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, October 10, 2009 in Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale Avenue beginning at 11:00 am. The family suggests memorial contributions in Lillian's memory may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the After School Program at First St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oregon, Ohio or Good Shepherd of the Deaf Lutheran Church. Services: Saturday, October 10, 2009 @11:00 am Trinity Lutheran Church
