Lillian J. Murphy, 90 of Oregon, Ohio passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg with her loving family by her side. Lillian was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 4, 1927 to Charles and Alice (Goulet) Hughes. She graduated from Clay high school and was a member of First St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Gary Ault; grandsons, Scott (Megan), Ryan (Shauna); great grandchildren, Evan, Lucas, Amber, Hudson, Emery. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edgar E. Murphy; brother, Robert Hughes and sister, Marguerite Trace.
Lillian worked for the Federal government in a number of departments; IRS, HUD, USPS and the Rossford Ordinance Depot. She was very active at the Oregon senior center playing Bingo and participating in their various day trips.
She loved the summer when she spent weekends at the family cottage with her neighbors, friends and family. Known as "GG", she was always making her famous popcorn for her great grandkids with which she had a very special relationship. She would frequently attend her great grandson's sporting events as she had faithfully done with her grandson's as well.
Lillian was known for her sweet tooth, sampling as many desserts as was available, and was a willing volunteer to bake cookies and desserts for donation to the church or senior center.
She led a very active and rewarding life and will be dearly missed by all including the 4 grand dogs that she loved.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-8 pm at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road where her funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Lillian's memory are asked to consider First St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Oregon, Ohio.
