Lillie M. Schwamberger, 88, of Millbury, Ohio passed away December 19, 2012 at the Genoa Care Center. She was born in Millbury, Ohio on March 2, 1924 to William 'œWalt' and Louie Mae (Stevens) Clapsaddle. Lillie was a 1942 graduate of Lake High School. She married Don K 'œTony' Schwamberger on February 7, 1948. The sister to eight brothers she was given the nickname 'œSis' and was a very caring and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. 'œSis' took great joy in caring for her family and friends and always had a smile for anyone she met. She was a life-long member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Millbury, where she served as an Elder and was active in the Women'™s Guild. You could always find 'œSis' in the kitchen cooking and baking either at home or church. She helped coordinate the Ham and Turkey dinner as well as funeral lunches at the church for years. Lillie also served at the Northwest Association of the U.C.C. on various committees including the Stewardship and Proclamation committee.
Surviving are her children, Kay (Tim) DeLong and Don (Debbie) Schwamberger; brother, Edward Clapsaddle; sisters-in-law, Bernice Clapsaddle, Marilyn Clapsaddle, Myrtle Clapsaddle, Hazel (Don) Tabbert, Fay Bolander, Judy Schwamberger; brother-in-law, Matt (Marianne) Schwamberger; grandchildren, Kari (Alan) Conkle, Kelli (Scott) Hosso, Katie (Mike) Beard, Kurt (Siera) Schwamberger, Heather Schwamberger and Christina Schuler; great grandchildren, Brooke, Amy and Ella Conkle, Mason Beard and Tucker Schwamberger; many nieces and nephews. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Fay, Fred, William, Elmo, Gene, Jack and Lou Clapsaddle.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road on Friday from 3-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at St. Peter United Church of Christ, 28505 Main St., Millbury, OH on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and where the family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Lillie'™s memory can be made to St. Peter United Church of Christ or the Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of the Genoa Care Center and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care and compassion.
