Obituary

Linda Lee (Ackerman) Curran, 60, of Oregon was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus, Sunday, August 23, 2009. Linda was born March 10, 1949, to the late John Frederick and Thelma (Miller) Ackerman. Linda was the loving wife of Jeremiah Thomas Curran for 31 years. Linda graduated from Clay High School (1967) and Toledo Hospital School of Nursing. Linda served as a registered nurse at St. Charles Mercy Hospital in the Emergency Department for 27 years, working both as a staff nurse and as the director of the Emergency Department. Linda's compassionate service as an RN has been an inspiration to many. That same compassion was returned to her by the many healthcare professionals who cared for her over her 20 year illness. Her family is eternally grateful to all who cared for Linda over the years. After retiring due to her illness, Linda continued to dedicate her life to serving God. She served her churches, First St. John Lutheran, her current church, New Harvest Christian, as well as Oregon Community and Family Coalition, and Women of Faith. Most recently she began work on a new project Bible Education in School Time (BEST). Above all, she gave her love to others by touching many lives and fostering her many "special relationships". She enjoyed her involvement in her community, Christian organizations, travel, as well as in shopping, especially with her daughter, Amy. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, baking cookies with her grandchildren, and caring for her youngest grandchild, Alivia. In addition to her husband, Jerry, Linda is survived by four daughters, Amy Adamski, Colleen (Bernie) Goetz, Erin (Tadd) Davis, Kerry (Andy) Nissen. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren, Lauren, Shane, and Delaney Goetz, Luke and Jeremiah (JD) Davis, Katie, Noah, and Mallory Nissen, and the light of "Mema's" life these last three years, Alivia Adamski. Also surviving is her sister, Irene "Sissie" Dusseau; and her brother, Fritz (Donna) Ackerman; her sisters, Carol (Tom) Reed, Deb Warnke; brother, Donnie (Alice) Dusseau; sister-in-law, Theresa Meyers. Linda is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and too many special friends to list. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Meyer and step father, Donald Dusseau. Visitation will be held in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday in New Harvest Church, 3540 Seaman Road, Oregon and where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.. Contributions in Linda's memory may be made to Food For Thought, Oregon Community and Family Coalition, or St. Charles Hospital Foundation. Condolences may be shared at: Visitation: Wednesday, 5-9 p.m. and Thursday, 2-9 p.m. Services: Friday, 10:00 a.m. at New Harvest Church
