Lionel "Blair" Lind, 81, of Curtice, OH passed away Sunday, June 12, 2005 in his home. He was born in Jerusalem Township on November 5, 1923 to Oscar and Ida "Glee" (McCaskey) Lind. Blair served as a Pilot in the Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Air Force Reserves. He was a life long farmer, raised turkeys and was employed by the American Ship Building Co. for 18 years. Blair was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed building hand held airplanes and go carts, and took pleasure in fish aquariums and photography.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; children, Sandy (Tom) Lajti, Brian Lind, Sharon (David) Dean, James (Connie) Lind Sr., Lloyd (Heidi) Lind and Jennifer (Mark) Mentzer; grandchildren, Tom, Elizabeth, Eric and Randy Lajti, Adam, Justin and Megan Dean, James Lind Jr., Nicole (Lind) Herrera, Amy and Susan Lind, Rachel and Steven Mentzer, and 7 great grandchildren; brother, Dean (Fran) Lind and sister, Analie (Gordon) Moellman.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Ave. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 20 S. Yondota Rd., Curtice, OH. Interment will follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston, OH. Expressions of sympathy in Blair's memory can be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church or the Arthritis Foundation.
