Lois Irene Folsom, age 86, passed away on October 1, 2014 in Oregon, Ohio. She was born on January 6th, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to Clyde and Eleanor (Black) Phillips. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Weldon, and sisters-in-law Kay, Barbara, Mildred and brother-in-law, Robert Folsom. Lois Graduated from Plymouth high School in 1946 and from Michigan Normal School (now Eastern Michigan University) in 1950. She taught for many years at Garfield elementary in the Livonia Public School System. On April 12, 1952, she married Donald Folsom. They had 3 children; Diane, Donald (Susan), and Richard (Sheila). She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren Rebecca and Patrick, sister, Judy (Clete), brothers Victor and Douglas (Ann), brothers-in-law Robert and David (Virginia), sister-in-law Jeanne, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lois was an expert knitter. She knitted over 300 personalized Christmas stockings for family and friends. She also enjoyed making ceramics. She was a member of Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church and served 4 terms as a deacon. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. A memorial service is being planned for a future date.
