Loretta C. Schwind, 77, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Loretta was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 7, 1938 to Chet and Josephine (Szymanowski) Sniegowski. Loretta was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. She enjoyed cross stitching, playing solitaire on her computer, animals, and reading. Loretta found great joy in serving as an Ohio Reads mentor and tutor. Her true passion was sitting and enjoying the sunshine on her porch. She was an RN who worked for Dr.'s Kampfer and Weaver, and later for Dr. Jim Weaver in Bowling Green. She was a familiar face for years at both Fritzie Freeze Ice Cream Shop and the Toledo Building Coffee Shop, where she helped her son. Loretta is survived by her son, Chris (Michelle Hallauer) Schwind; and brothers, Donald (Barbara) Sniegowski and Bob (Sandy) Sniegowski. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Duane "Dugan" Schwind who passed away September 14, 2015. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:00 am in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Road, Oregon, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
