Lorraine Vas, 73, of Oregon, OH, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at home. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on September 18, 1932, to Benjamin and Lilly (Ray) Collins. Lorraine was employed with Kmart as a manager for 10 years and most recently worked as manager of Luther Grove Apartments for 15 years, retiring in 1999. She was a very dedicated mother and member of Amity United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, writing and drawing. Surviving are her son, Kenneth (Diane) Vas of Walbridge, OH; daughters, Janet (Fred) Schultz of Oregon, OH and Linda (Tom) Ankenbrandt of Boise, Idaho; sister, Doris (Archie) Williams; brothers, Ralph (Barb) and Don Collins; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stephen Vas; son, John Vas and brothers, Jack and Bob Collins. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Friday, February 10, 2006, from 2 until 9 p.m. and Saturday from 11-1 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
