Louis "Hank" Hornyak, 85, of Maumee OH and formerly of Oregon, OH passed away
March 25, 2004 in Ridgewood Manor. He was born in Toledo, OH on May 28, 1918 to Joseph and Mary
(Csizmar) Hornyak. Hank was a World War II US Army Veteran and had been employed
at the Interlake Iron Co. as a supervisor.He had been a member of the Civilian
Conservation Corps before entering the service and played semi-pro baseball in
Fremont during the 1940's. Hank was an avid bowler, golfer, and was a member of
St. Stephen Catholic Church.
He is survived by numerous nephews and nieces. Hank was preceded in death by his
parents; brothers and sisters, Joseph, Irene, Mary, Yolanta, Emery, Stephen,
John, Frank, and Margaret.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy
Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Sunday from 3-8 p.m. with recitation
of the rosary at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on
Monday at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to St. Stephen Church for a Mass of Christian
Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Those wishing to make an
expression of sympathy in Hank's memory are asked to consider St. Stephen
Church.
