Louis A. Vasko, 77 of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. Lou was born in Toledo on September 24, 1932 to Stephen J. and Mary (Kish) Vasko. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. Lou retired after 40 years from Teledyne CAE where he was a tool and cutter grinder. He was a devout Catholic and was active in many of the Bethlehemes Hungarian traditions of St. Stephen'™s Church participating as the neighborhood Oreg for many years. He was a member of St. Stephen'™s Church, VFW Birmingham Post 4906 and the Disabled American Veterans. Lou enjoyed bowling, softball, horseshoes, and watching Toledo and Detroit hockey, Detroit Tigers baseball, Detroit Lions and Notre Dame football.
Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia A.; children, Louis 'œBunk', Andrew (Marsha), Katherine (Steve) Feher, John, Tricia (Bob) Galuzny, Daniel 'œRocko' (Stacy); grandchildren; Ryan, Joshua, Lindsay, Katie, Kristi, Steve, Chase, Lexi, Kaylee, Kelsey; sisters-in-law, Mary Vasko, Agnes Vasko; 8 nieces and nephews. Lou was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Mary; brothers, Steve, Bob, Joe and Andrew.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday from 2-9 pm where the rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Stephen'™s Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
