Lucille "Lucy" Judith Nagy, 70 passed away December 27 at the Manor of Perrysburg from a stroke. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Nagy Jr. and Lucille Ruth (Reeves) Nagy. Surviving her are sister Mary (Nagy) Soneson, brother in law, nephew, and cousins. Lucy was a 1969 graduate of Waite High School, where she enjoyed choir, intramural sports, clubs, and social activities. She was an active member of Junior Achievement and her church where she enjoyed VBS, bible studies, Sunday School, and helping with the noodle making fundraiser with her mother. She was involved in the Lighted Schoolhouse and 4H, teaching sewing and knitting. She attended the University of Toledo majoring in elementary education and psychology. She loved traveling to Florida especially in the winter and loved animals; especially dogs. A notable accomplishment she achieved was completing the 26 mile Glass City Marathon. A photo of her crossing the finish line was used for advertising. Lucy loved visiting with family and friends and making new friends. Her lovable playful personality made her popular and a favorite among residents and staff. Lucy's goal was to make you smile and laugh. She was quick with a "dad" joke, a hug, or a cheerful encouraging words. She found comfort in the Bible and would share verses appropriate for the situation. She loved to dance, sing, and play the piano and encourage others to join in; especially with her beloved family.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Friday, December 31, 2021 from 10:00 am until funeral service at 11:00 am.
