Lucy M. Hornyak, 88, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Lucy was born on April 11, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio to Dan and Filomena (Falcone) Romano. Lucy was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church where she was past president of the Altar Society and Mother's Club, and part of the cooking crew for many years. She was also active with the Toledo Rose Society and Oregon Senior Center. Lucy is survived by her son, John (Rosemary); daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Dixon; daughter-in-law, Dianne Adams; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; bro-ther, Dan (Jackie) Romano II; sisters, Angela Csehi and Josephine Trivarelli, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; sons, Nicholas and James Hornyak; grandson, Jimmy Hornyak; brother, Nicholas Romano; and son-in-law, James Dixon. Friends and family may visit at the Kinsey Funeral Chapel, 2001 Consaul St., Toledo, Ohio on Monday, October 18, 2010 from 2 until 9 p.m. Rosary services will be held at 4 p.m.. Funeral services will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home on Tuesday and continue with 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen's Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Lucy's name may be directed to St. Stephen's or the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. The Hornyak family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Parkcliffe at Northwood (Wright Harvey House) for their great care while Lucy lived there.
