Luther "Duke" Hartson, 85, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 15, 1924 to George and Mabel (Szerbe) Hartson. Luther was employed with Central Transport as a truck driver for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed singing and spending time with his family. Luther is survived by his wife of 66 years Betty, children; Patricia (Wayne) Smith, Bonnie (Don) Swan, Connie Palmer, grandchildren; Kim, Donnie, Ronnie, Johnny, Mark, Ernie and Dawn, 14 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and sister Iona Bach. He was preceded in death by his parents and 14 siblings. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, October 29th from 1-8pm. Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, October 30th at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
