Lydia Chapa, 84, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. She was born in Mercedes, Texas on January 9, 1934 to Manuel and Adelina (Castro) Mendoza. Lydia married the love of her life, Domingo Chapa Sr. who preceded her in death in 1998. She worked as a press operator at Sharon Manufacturing Company for 26 years before retiring. She loved to cook, dance and go camping. Her best trait was her willingness to always help others, especially her loving family. She was an amazing woman and will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Lydia is survived by her children, Angie Meyers, Joe (Brenda), Aliescha (Ray) Green; brother, Joe (Margaret) Mendoza; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; children, Domingo Jr., David and Sylvia Chapa; sisters, Tomasa Padilla, Lupe Moreno, Hope Martinez; and brother, Gilbert Mendoza.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
