Mabel E. Simpson, 94, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on August 1, 2021 at Orchard Villa. She was born in Pemberville, Ohio, on June 4, 1927 to George and Dora (Hille) Bauman. Mabel worked as a caregiver for 15 years, before retiring in 1998. Mabel attended First St. John Lutheran Church, volunteered at St. Charles Hospital and belonged to the Oregon Senior Center. She enjoyed helping people, playing cards with friends and family, ballroom dancing, sewing and playing piano. Mabel is survived by her children, Betty Wagoner, Robert (Laura) Samson and Thomas (Jodie) Samson; grandchildren; and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Arnold, Leonard, Harold, Junior and Desmond Bauman. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Mabel's family would like to thank the staff, nurses and aides at Orchard Villa for their care and support.
