Obituary

Madonna Ann Bury, beloved wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great grandmother, age 90, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully Friday, December 5, 2025. Madonna was born in Toledo, Ohio, on June 1, 1935, to George and Margaret (Kester) Jensen. She was a proud graduate of Clay High School, Class of 1953. On September 24, 1955, she married the love of her life, Cliff Bury. She served as a Cub Scout leader when her sons were young, worked at Toledo Trust Bank, and later became the manager of the gift shop at Chelsea Hospital. Over the years, Madonna worked alongside Cliff and their sons in the family's farming operations, always ready with a warm, home-cooked meal after a long day in the field. A former member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Toledo, Madonna volunteered her time helping with church dinners for many years. Madonna enjoyed quilting, traveling, and baking homemade treats for her family and friends.

Madonna is survived by her husband of 70 years, Cliff; sons, Thomas (Kelly) Bury and Marcus Bury; grandchildren, Douglas (Kristen) Bury, Sarah (Joseph) Barone, and Jessica (John) Farr; great-grandchildren, Adeline, Clara, Anna, Elizabeth, Violet, and Alice Farr, and Lucy Bury; brother, Bill (Ginny) Mauter; sister-in-law, Sharon (Luis) Pena; cousin, Sally (Don) King; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, John Mauter; brother, Don (Phyllis) Jensen; and brother-in-law, Raymond Bury.

Madonna's family would like to thank her hospice caregiver, Michelle, as well as the staff of Parkcliffe of Northwood and Care 360 Hospice for their compassionate care and support to both Madonna and her family.

The family will receive friends at St. John Lutheran Church, Williston Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 10:30 am until funeral service at 11:30 am, where a fellowship lunch will follow. Private interment: Oakwood Cemetery.
