Madonna Rose Lampros-Deuschle, 66, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Parkcliffe of Northwood with her loving husband by her side. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 8, 1958 to Ralph and Hazel (Snyder) Lampros. She graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School and went on to obtain her Nursing Degree from the University of Toledo. Madonna married the love of her life, Mark Deuschle on October 9, 1999 and together they spend 25 loving years together. She had a passion for baking, cooking Greek food, taking trips to Disney and had an absolute love for Christmas. She was the middle child of 6 and played a big part as caretaker of her siblings and parents. Madonna was the loving mother of Jeffrey Harris Jr. who preceded her in death. The family remembers many things of Madonna, her compassion for others, the family retreats to Maresa Jesuit in Michigan. Madonna's professional career started over 40 years ago when she graduated from the University of Toledo's Nursing Program with honors. As a nurse she worked as the admission director for an area nursing home, Riverside Hospital, Toledo Hospitals Cardiac Nursing and most recently St. Charles step-down Coronary unit, as well as relief house supervisor for the past 30 years.
As a professional, Madonna lived life of compassion, always extending herself to show a sense of concern for others as she embodied the spirit of nursing. She treated all patients with dignity and respect, advocating for their well-being. Many patients and families referred to her as the "Angel," as she was always watching over them and protecting them. Many colleagues remember and respect her for sharing her knowledge and expertise with them and the next generation.
Her professional accolades include but are not limited to, Northwest Ohio Nurses Association, Nurse Excellence in Acute Care, nursing St. Charles "Excellence in Community Service," "Nurse Excellence Award," and "Physicians Choice Nurse Excellence Award."
Madonna lived a life of compassion and grace beyond the walls of the hospital, extending herself in a show of benevolence for others well-being. She will be remembered for her volunteer work with Midwest Medical Mission and Solid Rock Missions in an effort to improve the lives of people in the Dominican Republic. She also volunteered at St. Louis Helping Hands Soup Kitchen, agape outreach delivering blankets and winter wear for the homeless in Toledo's Warehouse District and teaching children to read through the Genoa Schools Starz Program.
It is said, "A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions and roots spring up to make new trees." As Madonna leaves this world, her life of services leaves behind a forest of love, compassion and humanity.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 25 years, Mark; grandchildren, Amber (Steven) Young, Jessica (Caleb Wellman) Harris, Kevin Harris; great-grandchildren, Madison, Leah, Willow, Adaline, Serenity; siblings, Becky (Harold) Blankenship, Judy Woods, Ralph Lampros, Denise (TJ Phillips) Oancea, Kathy Fry; sister-in-laws, Donna (Tim) Robinson and Mary Jo (Mark) Slowinski. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffrey A. Harris Jr.; grandson, Jeffrey A. Harris III; and brother-in-law, Tom Fry.
The family will greet friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel 1111 Woodville Rd., Millbury, Ohio, on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will start at 1:30 p.m. The family will also greet friends on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at Clay Township Cemetery. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the care and compassion of the staff at Parkcliffe of Northwood and Elara Caring Hospice for the wonderful care they provided. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to, Elara Caring Hospice or Helping Hands of St. Louis.
