Obituary

Magdalene R. Fischhhaber, 82, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010 in Mercy St. Charles Hospital. Magdalene was born in Toledo on October 12. 1927 to George and Gertrude (Ackerman) Hecklinger. She was a graduate of Waite High School and attended both the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University . She served as a school librarian for the Oregon City Schools for over 20 years before her retirement in 1988. Mrs. Fischhaber was a member of St. Paul '™s Lutheran Church and Church Women Club, Oregon Jerusalem Historical Society where she was a charter member and past president, Spade and Trowel Garden Club, Friends of Pearson and PEO. Magdalene loved traveling and enjoyed her trips to Europe, Africa and Asia where she made many friends. But her first love was playing cards and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. Surviving are her loving husband of 61 years, William; son, Albert (Sherri) Fischhaber, daughter, Brenda (Richard) DeLamatre; sister, Marjorie (Ernest) Bollinger; grandchildren, Shannon (Craig) Revill, Richard (April) DeLamatre, Kristen (Kevin) Sabol, Caroline Magdalene Fischhaber; great grandchildren, Issac, Isabella, Leah and Reagan. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donald and Dale Hecklinger. Friends may call in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel where visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 am in First St. John Lutheran Church 2471 Seaman Street . Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery .
