Manokah JoAnne Bonnell, 79, of Walbridge, OH and formerly of East Toledo and Northwood, OH. JoAnne passed on to be with the Lord on June 1, 2008 at the home of her daughter, Bev Sawyer. She was born in Weston, WV on June 28, 1928 to Gamey and Cora (Wiseman) Teter. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Bonnell and moved to Toledo, OH. JoAnne worked for the A&P grocery store as head bookkeeper/cashier for 31 years. She is still remembered today by many as the "A&P lady with the kind, friendly smile". She was a member of the American Business Women's Assoc., Arthur Daly American Legion Auxiliary, and the Zenobia Shrine Dendarah Court. As a season ticket holder, she thoroughly enjoyed live local performances at the Valentine, Stranahan, Oregon Theater & Upton Players. She was also a regular at Music Under the Stars. But her most pleasurable membership was in the Elvis Presleys Sweet Sweet Spirit Fan Club. JoAnne attended church at Memorial United Church of Christ. As a Christian, JoAnne was devoted to the Lord and others. Throughout her life, she selflessly provided for the personal needs of her family and friends. She was a loving, giving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Surviving are children, Gregory (Mary) Bonnell and Beverly (Kevin) Sawyer; grandchildren, Angie and Brianne Sawyer, Rob, Mike, Brian and Adam (Kari) Bonnell; great-grandchildren, K1eiston and Ria Bonnell; brother-in-law, Tony Bexton and many nieces and nephews. JoAnne was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert; parents and sister, Helen (Bob) Fredrick. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pav1ey Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, OH on Thursday from 2-9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Lake Township Cemetery. The family is grateful to the staff of Odyssey Health Care, especially to Nancy and Crystal, for all the direction and encouragement you provided for Moms care.
