Obituary

Marcelino H. Zapata, 83, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Arbors of Oregon. He was born in Carrizo Springs, TX on June 2, 1929 to Ramon and Inez (Hernandez) Zapata. Marcelino was employed at the Lime Plant in Genoa for many years and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Marcelino will be remembered for his love of gardening, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Baldomera; daughter, Diana Eva; son, Rene (Guillermina) Zapata; grandchildren, Elexia Eva and David Eva; siblings, Jesusita Garcia, Guadalupe Vela, Eloisa Cruz and sister-in-law, Angelita Zapata. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Eliodoro, Vicente, Salargosa, Antonio, and Cristina. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel 1111 Woodville Road, (east of I-280) on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 11:00 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to American Cancer Society.
