It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marcella "Sally" Elizabeth Koenig, a dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, August 26, 2025 at the age of 82 in Perrysburg, Ohio.

Sally was known for her strong love and support of family and friends, wanting to share in all their ups and downs. She was born January 13, 1943, the 5th of 15 children to Bernard and Marcella (Wilde) Bihn. Sally was raised in Northwood, Ohio and graduated from Central Catholic High School. She continued her education on a scholarship from Mary Manse College, completing her teaching degree at Bowling Green State University.

Sally was the heart of her family, always providing a listening ear, a warm embrace and endless support. Sally valued her friendships whether a phone call chat, a family party or outing, sharing a meal, or just texting hello, she was always ready to share in your sadness or joy. She was an avid flower gardener, known for her beautiful yard, and loved being busy learning new hobbies. She was creative and talented in everything she did, leaving a little bit of herself on everything she touched. Her love and guidance will be deeply missed. We are so grateful for all the sacrifices she made for us.

Sally is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Merle Koenig; daughters, Theresa (Milind) Bhanoo, Lauri (Alan) Franks, and Kristie (Tom) Hoelter; grandchildren Harison and Meghan Bhanoo, Alexa and Ally Franks, and Mikayla and Hayden Hoelter; siblings Bernard (Sandy) Bihn, Sr. Mary Jeanette Bihn, Frank (Sandy) Bihn, Eileen (Larry) Lehman, Dolores Oravec, Geri (Bob) Hart, Dennis (Sue) Bihn, Lois (Ed) Stribrny, and Mike (Jen) Bihn; along with many nieces, nephews and loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Helen Karl, Tom Bihn, Jeanette Bruns, Phyllis Zielinski and Juanita "Nina" Kozina.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston, Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) Sunday, August 31, 2025 from 3 pm - 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am Monday, September 1, 2025, at St Jerome Church, 300 Warner Street, Walbridge, where friends and family may say their last goodbyes beginning at 10 am. Graveside services Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 9:00 am at Lake Township Cemetery, 3550 Walbridge Road, Millbury. Sally's family wishes to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their kind and compassionate care and for all who visited and kept her in their thoughts and prayers. Expressions of sympathy may be directed in the form of donations in her name to St. Jerome Catholic Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
