Obituary

Marcia Janelle Walker, 79, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away on March 8, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on August 17, 1931 in Nashville, Tennessee to Porter and Hortie (Whitmore) Elrod. Janelle married the love of her life, Willis Paul, in October 1950. They moved to Toledo in January of 1956. Janelle and Paul celebrated their 60th anniversary in October 2010. She was active in the United Appeal, March of Dimes, American Red Cross and was an office assistant at Waite High School from 1971 until 1980. Janelle was also involved in the Navarre PTA from 1956 to 1967. She served on the Toledo PTA Council, District I for 4 years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, camping, cooking, baking, and playing cards. Most of all she enjoyed her friends and family. Janelle is survived by her loving husband, Willis; children, Deborah (Hal) Schultz, Dennis (Cathy) Walker; grandchildren, Aaron Schultz, Dennis (Alyson) Walker, Dana (Jeremy) Haase, April Walker, Brandy Schultz, Ashley Schultz; 6 great grandchildren; special niece, Diane (Dave) Ludwig; nephews, Donald and Terry Dale; sisters, Billie Parsley, Betty (Paul) Cook. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jean Wright; step-father, Willie Johnson; step-mother, Jewell Elrod. Friends and family may visit the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel on Thursday, March 10 from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Janelle'™s memory may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Janelle'™s family would like to thank Dr. Steven Selman and his staff, as well as Dr. Ahuja and the St. Charles Cancer Center. A very special thank you goes to the lovely caretakers of Hospice of Perrysburg for making her last days so peaceful. Visitation: Thursday, 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. Services: Friday, 1:00 p.m. Interment: Lake Township Cemetery
