Marcus "Marc" Adkins, 50, born July 14th, 1975 and passed May 14th, 2026.
He passed from a month-long battle of an infection that led to an open heart surgery. The severe, unknown onset of complications after surgery ultimately led to his passing. Marcus previously had open heart surgery due to a genetic defect of his aortic valve. Marcus's family gave him every chance to fight. The details post-surgery were very morbid and we ask that you keep the Adkins Family in your prayers.
Marcus was the definition of a family man. He did everything in the name of God and his family. He loved spending time with his wife, Ginger, and his three kids: Mira, Kolton, and Korbin. Marcus and Ginger were married for 27 years. Together, as a family, they made so many amazing memories doing the simple things, doing dance and baseball together, and on family vacations (he especially loved beach vacations). If you were to ask Marcus his favorite memories it would be anything involving just time together as a family, laughing, and listening to music.
Marcus was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, but grew up on the east side of Toledo, where some of his favorite memories were spending entire days riding bikes around town with his friends. From a young age, Marcus had a passion for many things. He earned a black belt in karate, loved playing baseball, collecting baseball cards, listening to every type of music imaginable, following politics, and had a deep love for fitness, working out, and all things bodybuilding.
At just 17 years old, Marcus enlisted in the United States Army National Guard in February 1993, beginning a lifelong commitment to service and hard work. He attended Tiffin University, where he majored in Criminal Justice and met the love of his life, Ginger. During his time there, he was a proud member of the Sigma Omega Sigma fraternity and served as its president.
After graduating, Marcus continued serving both his country and his community by remaining enlisted in the Army while also working as a police officer for 10 years. He was honorably discharged in 2006 following an injury.
Following his military and law enforcement career, Marcus went on to build a successful professional life, steadily climbing the corporate ladder while always making sure his family was cared for and provided for. Anyone who knew Marcus knew there was truly nothing he couldn't do. Through his many experiences and skills gained across countless fields of work, he became the person everyone turned to when something needed to be fixed, changed, built, or figuredout and somehow, Marcus always knew exactly how to do it.
Marcus had the gift of gab and made sure to make friends with every person he ever met. He was strong, resilient, empathetic, humorous, and full of life. His smile, laughter, and presence commanded any room he walked into.
Marcus was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Ginger; his children, Mira, Kolton, and Korbin; his parents, Marilyn (Dreier) and Danny Adkins; his siblings: Julianne Badreddine, her spouse Nathan Wright, and her son Mason Badreddine, Jennifer Turner, her spouse Tim Turner, and her son Alec Adkins, and Jacalyne Adkins, her spouse AJ Weiss and her two sons Archie and Teddy Weiss . His love, guidance, and presencewill be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Epiphany of the Lord, St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 729 White Street, Toledo, Ohio, with an additional hour of visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
